Dordogne - Lot- Quercy
Holiday Gites with 14m x 7m Swimming Pool
Charming 19th century barn converted to provide beautiful
gites all with original features and beams creating comfort and style. Situated
in a peaceful valley on the edge of Concores a pretty stone village with local
shop, boulangerie, post office, bar, tennis courts and Boules pitch all within
walking distance. The gites are adjacent to a small chateau and river. Concores
is between the rivers Lot and Dordogne and towns of Gourdon and Cahors, a perfect
and wonderful place to explore this beautiful and historic region of France.
Each gite is comfortably furnished and has TV/DVD player (with English freeview
channels), washing machine, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment and
microwave.
We are situated on the edge of the
delightful village of Concores, some ten minutes from Gourdon to the north and
some twenty five minutes from Cahors to the south. The River Dordogne is twenty
minutes away whilst the River Lot is about thirty minutes away.
The region has so much to offer in the way of Medieval towns, fortified villages,
bastides, chateaux, prehistoric caves and paintings, wine tasting, museums,
art exhibitions, water and nut mills and markets and fetes. The rivers Dordogne
and Lot have canoeing and kayaking, nature walks and wild life trails abound.
The rivers have beaches as well as several local lakes where you can swim or

The region provides such an array of scenery, where apricot and pink
cliffs rear up out of juniper and oak clad hillsides, to fields of maize, sunflowers
and tobacco, to strawberry fields, vineyards and orchards along with woods of
chestnut and walnut.
Food is plentiful, whether you wish to visit one of the many local markets full
of fresh produce and return to your gite and cook, or if you prefer, gastronomic
restaurants or simple Auberges are within easy reach for local specialities
such as fois gras and duck, to name but a few.
Concores has a boulangerie, church, post office with bar, petrol station with
shop, tennis court, boules and Salles des fetes, all these are within easy walking
distance of the gites. Also within walking distance of the gites is Camping
du Moulin des Donnes which is a small campsite with a bar which provides entertainment
in the height of the season.
Gourdon is a town with all amenities, some wonderful cafes
and restaurants, lake, cinema, banks, supermarkets, local produce market on
Saturday mornings and doctors and a hospital.
